Scholarship Directory
Windham Foundation scholarships are awarded to Windham County residents who are studying on the undergraduate level. Support is also provided for high school graduates who are pursuing a certificate in a trade or technical setting. If you feel you qualify to be considered for a scholarship, you may then file a Scholarship Application. There there are other requirements that need to be followed to complete the process. This includes transcript requests and the completion of financial aid forms. See Scholarship Instructions below for additional information and filing deadlines.
Western Union – Family Scholarship Program
A new initiative for migrants, immigrants and their families. The Family Scholarship Program is intended to help two members of the same family move up the economic development ladder through education. Scholarships may be used for tuition for college/university education language acquisition classes, technical/skill training, and/or financial literacy. For example, one family member may request assistance to attend college and the other family member may request assistance to attend English as a Second Language (ESL) course.
The Wabash Valley Community Foundation
Since 1991, the Wabash Valley Community Foundation has been providing grants to non profit organizations in Clay, Sullivan and Vigo counties. The Foundation priorities are as follows: Health & Human Services, Community Development, Education, Arts & Culture, Religion, Scholarships.
The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is the nation’s largest, oldest, most successful and most comprehensive minority higher education assistance organization. UNCF provides operating funds and technology enhancement services for 39 member historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), scholarships and internships for students at about 900 institutions and faculty and administrative professional training.
The Truman Scholarship provides up to $30,000 in funding to students pursuing graduate degrees in public service fields. Students must be college juniors at the time of selection. The Foundation also provides assistance with career counseling, internship placement, graduate school admissions, and professional development.
The Young Latinas Leadership Institute
Each year five students are selected as the 100 Hispanic Women Young Latinas Leadership Institute Scholars. The students receive a four-year scholarship in the amount of one thousand dollars per year. The students are required to maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. Since its inception in 2002, the organization has awarded 15 scholarships to deserving students.
The Jackie Robinson Foundation
Through its Education and Leadership Development Program, The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $7,200 annually to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.
The Hispanic College Fund provides talented and underprivileged Hispanic youth with vision, mentors, resources and scholarships. We are passionate about our mission to develop the next generation of Hispanic professionals and it’s our partnerships with business, government and foundations that are making their success a reality.
The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship
As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to furthering Anita’s vision, we are pleased to announce the 2006 Google Anita Borg Scholarship, through which we hope to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders. Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic background and demonstrated leadership. A group of female undergraduate and graduate student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool. The scholarship recipients, selected from the finalists, will each receive a $10,000 scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program
The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue careers in these fields.
ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund
The Scholarship Fund awards $5,000 of financial assistance annually to each scholarship recipient attending an ABA-accredited law school. Assuming the recipient achieves satisfactory performance in law school, an award made to an entering freshman may be renewed for two additional years, resulting in financial assistance totaling $15,000 during his or her time in law school.
The Teagle Foundation provides leadership for liberal education, marshalling the intellectual and financial resources necessary to ensure that today’s students have access to challenging, wide-ranging, and enriching college educations. We believe that the benefits of such learning last for a lifetime and are best achieved when colleges develop broad and intellectually stimulating curricula, engage their students in active learning, explore questions of deep social and personal significance, set clear goals, and—crucially—systematically measure progress toward them.
Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund
The Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund is open to U.S. and Canadian residents. All applicants must be seeking an undergraduate degree from an accredited two- or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago.
The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation
To be considered for financial aid from the The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, students must: Be a resident in the State of Nebraska. Be undergraduate students who have not already earned a bachelor’s degree; Be applying to a Nebraska state public school (UNO, UNL, UNK, Chadron, Peru, Wayne)
The Sodexo Foundation grants STOP Hunger Scholarships to recognize students in the fight against hunger in America. More than 35.5 million Americans are at risk of hunger and Sodexo, Inc. is committed to working toward a hunger-free nation. The STOP Hunger Scholarships recognize and reward students who have made a significant impact in the fight against hunger and its root causes in the United States.
The mission of The Scarlett Family Foundation is ‘to provide educational support to middle Tennessee students of all ages’. The Foundation has provided a broad range of financial support from college scholarships to the development of customized executive education programs for high potential, high performing business leaders. From the youngest students in pre-K programs to adult literacy programs.
The Ronald Simon Family Foundation offers assistance to deserving students in their quest to achieve the American dream of independence and self-sufficiency, while positively impacting the lives of others.
The mission of the Foundation is to promote the common good and well-being of all the people of our nation, primarily by promoting universal and unlimited educational opportunities based solely on each individual’s demonstrated ability and willingness to learn. While education is its primary area of interest, the Foundation also supports advances in law enforcement, the military, community charitable organizations and humanitarian efforts.
The Owen Locke Memorial Foundation
The purpose of the Fund is to provide educational scholarships to fund tuition, school fees and books for applicants in California. Preference will be given to persons who have limited financial resources available for school, but who are not eligible to be awarded funds from public or government sources.
Administers over $1 M in scholarship funding annually to approximately 300-250 outstanding undergraduates in colleges, universities and vocational training programs across the country. We are proud to administer the Casey Family Scholars Scholarship, the Orphan Foundation of America Scholarship and a multitude of sponsored scholarships on behalf of donors who show in a very concrete way that they care about the future of our foster youth.
The Foundation has become the largest, private source of scholarships for Thurston County high school students attending institutions of higher learning in the state of Washington. Since 1966, the program has aided more than 280 local students with approximately $925,000 applied toward their continuing educations.
Ohio Dental Association Foundation
The ODA Foundation offers its Dental Career Scholarships to help expand the pool of qualified dental auxiliaries for dental practices and to attract the highest caliber of candidates to dentistry in Ohio. Qualified dental students, dental hygiene students, expanded function dental assisting students, and dental assisting students are able to apply for the ODA Foundation Dental Career Scholarship to pursue their goal of having an exciting dental career.
Nina Haven Charitable Foundation
The Nina Haven Charitable Foundation gives children in Martin County, Florida, who might otherwise not be able to, an opportunity to seek higher education. Scholars are chosen based upon financial need and the commitment and promise to stay in school.
National Merit Scholarship Corporation
Each year a total of some 55,000 high school students are honored in the National Merit Program and the National Achievement Program and more than 10,500 of the most outstanding participants receive scholarships worth a total of $50 million for college undergraduate study.
The National Academy Foundation (NAF) is an acclaimed national network of high school career academies predominately based in urban districts-schools within schools-with rigorous, career-themed curricula created with current industry and educational expertise. Each year, NAF serves more than 50,000 students in over 500 Academies in 40 states and the District of Columbia through the Academy of Finance, the Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism, and the Academy of Information Technology.
